With all the features of it’s cheaper sibling, the Weber Original Kettle Premium has a couple of extra things that make it a bit more comfortable.
Cooking area is the same at 363sq inches, it’s a couple of pounds heavier a the legs attach with spring loaded push clips, nice to know they won’t fall out when moving the BBQ around.
The lid and bowl are both heavy duty steel coated in porcelain enamel for durability and easy cleaning and the lid has the addition of a heat shield on the handle and a built in thermometer for checking your grilling temperature.
The charcoal grate and cooking grate are once again heavy duty coated steel and the cooking grate is double hinged for easy access to the fuel as well.
There is a noticeable improvement in the ash catcher. Unlike the cheaper model this one has a stainless steel bowl which is enclosed to stop the ash from blowing around off the tray and also contains the one touch cleaning system. Again this doubles as a 2nd vent to help with the flow of oxygen through the drum.
So for a few extra dollars the Premium Weber Kettle Charcoal Grill in my opinion is worth it for the extra few touches, especially the larger more enclosed ash catching tray.

Fantastic Charcoal Grill, have been using them for years. Bought this one for a few more features and looks, but the way it grills is the major deal. Great Grill!!
Very well packaged and ships so fast with prime, and it is super easy to assemble. I love weber grills and this has new improvements over my last one.
